The 1992 ZXR 750 J2 was the final year of the J-series, using the same 749 cc four, 100 hp rating and aluminium perimeter chassis as the J1. Changes were minor, mainly a softer rear shock setup. It is remembered as a well-handling sportbike whose rear suspension was considered too firm by many owners.
